OVERVIEW
Pharmacology is a branch of medicine that deals with the actions of the drugs on
living system. In dentistry it is a pre-clinical subject that provide a strong knowledge about
the actions, mechanisms, clinical indications, adverse effects, interactions and
contraindications which are important in the clinical practice. The Departmet of
pharmacology, RDCH, has spacious and sophisticated laboratory, Museum and library. The
academic pattern of BDS and MDS Pharmacology is based on Dental Council of India and
The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR. Medical Universit, Chennai. The department also encourage the
research works for Interns and Postgraduates of various specalities. Similarly, the teaching
faculties are also doing the interdisciplanry research with other dental departments.

Two-days- Handson workshop on “Breaking Antimicrobial Resistance – Newer antimicrobial drug development and testing”, organized by the Department of Pharmacology and Microbiology, Rajas Dental College and Hospital, Kavalkinaru Jn, Tirunelveli-627105, on 28 th & 29 th July 2025. Served as an Organizing Secretary.
Organized and conducted Toothpaste making competition for II BDS Students on world oral health day, in collaboration with Dept of Periodontics on 20 th march 2025.
