OVERVIEW
Orthodontics is dedicated to the correction of malaligned teeth and unaesthetic dental arrangements through a wide range of appliances and techniques. Our department in Rajas Dental College and Hospital provides comprehensive training to students in history taking, systematic clinical examination, diagnostic procedures, and the management of dentofacial deformities, along with hands-on experience in fabricating orthodontic appliances through precise wire bending techniques. We deliver orthodontic care to a large segment of the local population and institutional students using the latest fixed orthodontic methods, while also playing a vital role in cleft lip and palate rehabilitation through a multidisciplinary approach. Key areas of specialization include orthognathic surgeries, distraction osteogenesis, implants, and lingual orthodontics. In addition to conventional treatments, our department incorporates modern advancements such as clear aligner therapy, offering aesthetic and comfortable alternatives to braces, supported by digital workflows like 3D scanning, virtual treatment planning, and computer-aided design and manufacturing. The integration of advanced technologies including digital orthodontics, CAD-CAM systems, temporary anchorage devices (TADs), and 3D printing enhances precision, efficiency, and patient outcomes. Our department also regularly conducts hands-on courses, workshops, and continuing dental education programs to keep students and practitioners updated with the latest innovations in the field.
